How it works
Indoor sowing date = last frost date minus weeks before transplanting. Transplant date = last frost date itself, after hardening off. Example: last frost 15 April, 6 weeks before = sow indoors around 4 March.
Last frost dates are averages, not guarantees — check your local forecast and local extension frost dates, and protect seedlings if a late frost is forecast.
