Formula
Product (lb) = (nitrogen needed × area ÷ 1,000) ÷ (N% ÷ 100). Example: 1 lb N per 1,000 sq ft over 1,000 sq ft with 10-10-10 (10% N) needs 10 lb of product.

Do not guess a nitrogen target from this page alone — use a soil test or local extension recommendation for your crop and soil. Water after applying granular fertilizer, and never apply to dry, stressed plants at full rate without checking the product label.
